Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) Treatment
TRUSTED CREDENTIALS

A clear approach to red, irritated eyes.
Miami Eye Institute, led by Dr. Inna Ozerov, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conjunctivitis — commonly known as pink eye. This inflammation of the conjunctiva (the clear tissue covering the white of the eye) causes redness, discharge, itching, and irritation.
Conjunctivitis has several causes, and proper treatment depends entirely on identifying the right one. Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious and usually resolves on its own. Bacterial conjunctivitis often requires antibiotic drops. Allergic conjunctivitis is triggered by environmental allergens and needs a completely different approach.
Our team carefully evaluates your symptoms, exposure history, and eye exam findings to determine the exact type and provide targeted, fast-acting treatment. Miami Eye Institute proudly serves patients in Hollywood, Florida, Miami, Florida, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hallandale Beach, Aventura, Davie, Miramar, Cooper City, Weston, Plantation, and surrounding South Florida communities.

OUR APPROACH
How we identify and treat pink eye.
Because the wrong treatment can prolong symptoms, our process starts with an accurate diagnosis of the exact type of conjunctivitis you have.

Symptom & History Review
We discuss your symptoms, recent illnesses, allergen exposure, and contact lens use to narrow down the likely cause.
Detailed Eye Examination
Using slit-lamp microscopy, we examine the conjunctiva, eyelids, cornea, and discharge pattern to distinguish viral, bacterial, and allergic types.
Targeted Treatment
Based on the diagnosis, we prescribe antibiotic drops, antiviral therapy, allergy medications, or supportive care — never one-size-fits-all.
Prevention & Follow-Up
We provide clear guidance on hygiene, contact lens use, and when to return so symptoms resolve quickly and don’t come back.
